The
city beautiful has been expanding on Southern and western sides and as such to
cater to the needs of the residents of these new sectors, the Chandigarh
Administration, education department sanctioned the opening of another full fledged library which was
inaugurated by the then Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory
Chandigarh on 14th Aug 95. What better gift could be given on pre
independence eve to the citizens but an opening of library with all modern
facilities constructed to meet the needs and demands and norms of the 21st
century. With the opening of the library, the library activities are fairly
distributed in the modern city.
